Inventory Control Lead (Finance)
Assists in maintaining an accurate record of inventory in order to prevent and resolve inventory discrepancies by allocating orders, releasing work to warehouse floor, balancing workflow, and ensuring outbound truck turn times are within acceptable levels for multiple departments/sites.
What You'll Do:
• Conducts annual site cycle counts.
• Reports on operational errors impacting inventory performance through incident reports and proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems.
• Responsible for new item setup (dimensions, weight, storage, automation, slotting) and forwarding pick setups (max/replenishment levels, multiple FPs, large movement, CAD, pick/replenishment type).
• Conducts various inventory tasks such as checking code dates, item rotation, exceptions, location labels, discontinued items, LIMBO loads, zero balance on hand (BOH) items, tipped pallets, adjusting inventory quantities, identifying problem locations, and communicating findings to Operations.
• Allocates product to outside storage to be either sent or retrieved based on capacity vs. demand, creating/verifying/relocating pullbacks as needed, and investigating/resolving discrepancies.
• Coordinates special events such as Direct Store Delivery events, holiday peak shaving, holiday kits, and product distributions.
• Ensures food safety by monitoring for cross contamination, HAACP, product temp, recall process, inventory checks, communication, handling of product, and code date/tolerances.
• Ensures receiving proficiency by creating/closing report control numbers, adding POs/items, calculating/entering catch weights, OS&Ds, and researching discrepancies. Identifies incorrect product when product is on bill but not on PO, and coordinates rejections, zoned product, cross docks, receiving paperwork storage, and inbound appointment scheduling.
• Interacts with operations regarding miscellaneous shipping and receiving issues during the shift for packaging changes, slot moves, missing door drops, and forward pick exceptions.
• Ensures open lines of communication between employees, management, multiple 3rd parties, and buyers/merchandising.
• Performs equipment tracking by checking in/out operational equipment.
• Arranging pick-ups for donations, transfers, vendor returns, and product disposals.
• Manages order cuts/adds and communicates with stores as appropriate.
• Prioritizes individual Lift Truck Operator (LTO) tasks along with Dock Supervisors.
• Resolves order product shortages by creating handbills and ensuring shipment when directed to do so.
• Evaluates effectiveness of systems and recommends changes where appropriate.
• Trains users on relevant systems.
• Performs other duties as needed, requested, or assigned.
What Experience and Education You Need:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus one (1) year warehouse experience; or equivalent combination of training and/or experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of a Warehouse Management System (WMS) preferred.
