Assistant Professor Neonatal Hospitalist (Finance)
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine is seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist /Pediatric Nocturnist to provide nighttime inpatient care to pediatric patients at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital. St. Joseph's Children's Hospital is a tertiary care, 120-bed (including PICU & PCICU) hospital located in the heart of Tampa. The hospitalist program is staffed by approximately 4 FTE daily and 2 FTE nocturnists and cares for routine and medically complex children. This position includes the management of pediatric patients at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital and may potentially teach residents.MINIMUM:
Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field. Requires licensure to practice medicine or osteopathic medicine in accordance with Chapters 458 or 459, Florida Statutes, plus three years of appropriate experience. Completion of a residency program may substitute for the required experience.
To perform this position, the candidate will need to obtain and maintain a full un-restricted FL Medical License, maintain credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan, and be a medical staff member in good standing at the hospitals he/she is assigned to perform clinical duties.
Clinical experience in an inpatient hospital setting within the last 12 months.
Board certified/eligible in Pediatrics.
PREFERRED:
Board certified/eligible in pediatric hospital medicine.

Provides in house night shift coverage (typically 7 PM to 7 AM) at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital. This is a clinical position but may involve teaching residents. Evaluates, diagnosis and treats infants, children, and adolescents in the inpatient setting. Primarily assigned to overnight shifts.
Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities. Responsible for academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department/unit on university and/or Statewide.
