The Behavioral Health (BH) Clinician provides comprehensive crisis intervention and stabilization, to persons with acute psychiatric issues, serious mental illness, dual diagnoses, and substance use disorder-related issues, to prevent unnecessary hospitalizations and lengthy emergency department stays, to de-escalate and prevent worsening or future crises. Will also provide assessment for determination of need for higher level of care, including inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, substance use treatment,and crisis stabilization units. Services offered are trauma-informed, culturally competent, strengths-based, and needs-driven, and are responsive, adaptive, and respectful.This position is considered "essential" and is part of a team that provides this service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The BH clinician provides services to patients ages 2.5 to greater than 100 years and may be required to demonstrate age specific competency, depending upon clinical assignment, in a variety of clinical settings throughout the health center. The BH clinician is responsible for providing quality patient care under the guidance of the Clinical Supervisor, Administrative and Medical Directors and in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
