Assistant Director of Financial Access (Finance)
POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Director of Financial Access will focus on awarding students and disbursing various funds, while working closely with colleagues to foster a professional, knowledgeable, and welcoming environment for all BAC constituents. They will engage in outreach across the campus and represent the Director and department in internal and external meetings and events.
This is a full-time exempt position of 40 hours per week, reporting to the Director of Financial Access and a member of the Office of Student Services.
PRIMARY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Provide proactive, professional, and friendly service in all interactions.
· Responsible for Disbursement of Title IV financial aid, including Direct Loans and Pell Grants.
· Assist in awarding federal, state, and institutional aid using the federal methodology.
· Process communications including award letters and missing information notices.
· Manage the federal work study program working alongside Finance and HR in processing the awards.
· Oversee and coordinate the awarding of internal scholarship and awards.
· Act as next level support for the Student Advocates in manners related to financial aid, providing detailed and proactive counseling to students in need.
· Perform verifications.
· Stay current on federal regulations related to financial aid.
· Assist with monthly reconciliations of Title IV financial aid.
· Other tasks as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No.
Work Schedule requirements:
· This is a hybrid position. Up to 2 days a week in person will be required. Days in the office may vary depending on the time of year and needs of the office.
· Must be able to work flexible hours in accordance with the academic season.
EDUCATIONAL criteria: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
· 3-5 years' experience in higher education.
· 1-3 years' experience in a financial aid related setting preferred.
FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL SKILLS:
· Must be detail oriented.
· Computer literate, including effective use of Microsoft Office suite.
· Knowledge of Power FAIDS a plus.
· Excellent communication and consultative skills, both verbal and written.
· Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
· Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize.
· Ability and willingness to support collaborative efforts.
