Executive Director- Student Health Center (Finance)
1.Lead and manage clinical health services that contribute to a health promoting campus and wellbeing.
•Develop and direct the implementation of the SHC strategic plan.
•Develop and direct the implementation of comprehensive health services (including primary care, psychiatry, and pharmacy) that meet the needs of all UH students so that they can Be Well to Do Well.
•Direct the collection and analysis of student health data to track trends and inform services decision-making.
•Develop and administer policies and procedures in support of the SHC mission, ensuring adherence to federal, state and local health regulations including FERPA and HIPPA.
•Ensure patient care quality standards are maintained for applicable accreditations (including AAAHC) and health care regulation compliance.
•Contribute as part of the UH System selection of brokers and insurance providers for the student health insurance program (SHIP) for eligible students. Monitor services provided and oversee administration of all aspects of SHIP at UH.
2.Lead and manage the SHC Team Member Experience.
•Determine appropriate staffing needs for supporting the SHC strategic plan.
•Recruit, select, supervise, and mentor the SHC Senior Leadership Team including the Medical Director, Chief Psychiatrist, Chief Pharmacist, Chief Nurse, and Assistant Directors.
•Oversee the recruitment, selection, supervision, and mentorship of the rest of the SHC team, including contracted providers.
•While leading and directing the work of the SHC Senior Leadership Team, appropriately delegating responsibility for decisions to those with the expertise in their areas (e.g. Medical decisions made by the Medical Director, etc.).
•Plan for and direct appropriate work distribution and collaboration among team members.
•Plan for and facilitate ongoing learning and professional development of team members.
3.Develop, implement, and manage the SHC brand in alignment with the Health and Wellbeing team, Division of Student Affairs, and University of Houston branding.
•Oversee the development and implementation of marketing and communications materials and activities for broad health communications, health education, and promotion to ensure student awareness and engagement with SHC services and healthy behaviors.
•Oversee the development and implementation of marketing and communications materials and activities to educate stakeholders and the community about the benefits and success of the SHC.
•Collaborate with community partners to further health promotion efforts. 
4.Determine and manage appropriate financial, facility, equipment, technology, and other resource needs for supporting the SHC strategic plan.
•Develop and manage the SHC budget (in excess of $4M), all financial transactions, billing, contracts, grants, and reporting.
•Plan for and oversee the operational management of SHC facilities including working with partners in the building and Facilities Services.
•Plan and oversee the procurement and management of equipment, supplies, promotional items, and materials to support the SHC.
• Collaborate with advancement and other partners in proposal writing and other materials to secure grants, sponsorships, and philanthropic support for the SHC.
5.Contribute to the common agenda as a member of the Health and Wellbeing Leadership Team, building a philosophical approach of Be Well Do Well as a foundation for student success and contributing to a health promoting campus.
•Support and embed the Health and Wellbeing model within the SHC services and advocate for it as a foundation for campus-wide wellbeing.
•Collaborate with other Health and Wellbeing departments, where appropriate, to enhance comprehensive health and wellness programs and services, and contribute to strategies to create more wellbeing at the University of Houston.
6.Serve as a senior leader within the Division of Student Affairs, the University, and the industry.
•Contribute to planning, implementation, and assessment of the division's strategic plan and ensuring the SHC team's engagement and alignment.
•Serve as a senior leader at the University of Houston including engagement (including committee participation) and alignment with strategy, brand, and activities.
•Represent the SHC on internal and external campus leadership groups to promote health, wellness, and wellbeing as a priority on campus.
•Consult and cultivate partnerships and collaborations with internal and external partners and stakeholders (including students, faculty, staff, College of Medicine and other health-related professional Colleges, Health Departments, and community) to ensure the success of the SHC and contribute to a health promoting campus.
•Serve as a leading industry expert locally, regionally, and nationally, contributing to the continued evolution of the field and enhancing the University of Houston's reputation as a leader in student health.
7.Perform other job-related duties as required.
Requires application of advanced principles, techniques and theory in a professional discipline or a thorough general business management knowledge. Knowledge of this level is typically obtained through a directly job-related Master's degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Required: Master's Degree in Health Care Administration, Public Health, Health Sciences, Business Administration or closely related field.
Preferred: Terminal degree.
Requires a minimum of seven (7) years of directly job-related experience and at least three (3) years of progressive management/administrative experience in a health care setting.
Preferred: Experience in a Higher Education health clinic setting, leading licensed clinicians.
