Our current hybrid approach requires staff to work onsite a minimum of two days each week, every Tuesday and one other day, to be determined by their business unit. Hybrid staff are also welcome to come in additional days each week or may be asked to come in on other days by their manager.
DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The GBH Radio/Creative Traffic and Promotion Department produces on-air program promotional spots and campaigns for GBH Radio and CRB, and creates daily traffic logs for GBH Radio, CRB and CAI.
JOB OVERVIEW
The Radio Associate Producer is a demanding, high-volume production position where success is defined by the ability to collaborate with varied staff from around the foundation, make quick, creative decisions, and execute promotional campaigns with a high degree of quality that drives listenership.
The Radio Associate Producer will report to the Radio Traffic and Promotions Manager. They will write and produce campaigns promoting GBH Radio, GBH News and other radio programs, including those on CRB. The ideal candidate will collaborate effectively with reporters, editors and others within the news department to ensure that the promos produced are well-written and achieve the goals of the promotional campaign in question. The Radio Associate Producer will coordinate with voice talent, both internally and externally, to ensure scripts are accurate and recorded professionally. In addition to writing and producing, the Radio Associate Producer will also traffic the broadcast logs for CRB and provide back-up for GBH and CAI when necessary. Experience with broadcast operation technologies and writing for radio is essential.
The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about current news events, has strong writing skills and is proficient at communicating complex ideas succinctly.

What you get to do:
Assist with all aspects of promo production including copy writing, info and asset gathering, writing daily promo copy for shows, sound gathering for future promo production, as well as any support activities around promotion production. Edit underwriting promo copy and promos for GBH 2. Produce other promos for all radio stations as needed.
Traffic operational duties including contract entry, log assembly, and reconciliation procedures. Preparation for all daily broadcast elements and troubleshooting for smooth broadcast operations. Including covering the work of other team members, both with production and traffic, when they are away from work.
What skills you need:
Ability to demonstrate strong organizational skills is essential.
Must have an ability to manage multiple projects under rigorous broadcast deadlines in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of news and current events and is mission driven.
Digital audio editing and mixing skills required.
Familiarity with station broadcast operations and traffic system is a plus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required. 1-2 years of experience in radio production required.
