Job Summary:
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the facility, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain cleanliness of all public and common areas, including the lobby, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors.
• Clean and sanitize resident rooms and bathrooms.
• Keep handrails free of dirt and debris.
• Dust and clean walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and dispensers.
• Empty trash cans and replace liners.
• Sweep and mop floors.
• Follow proper safety protocols, including using caution signage and storing cleaning supplies out of residents' reach.
• Operate housekeeping equipment and supplies according to safety guidelines.
• Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas in a clean and orderly manner.
• Report resident safety concerns immediately to the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing.
• Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies need replenishment.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in a long-term care facility preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.
• Excellent time management and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and manuals.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to handle various tasks and instructions in different formats.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

• Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
• Regularly required to sit, kneel, stand, walk, talk, read, and hear.
• Use of housekeeping and office equipment, including copier, scanner, fax, telephone, and calculator.
• Work environment is generally low to moderate in noise and odor levels.
