Principal Engineer (E5891) (Information Technology)
Job Summary This role involves developing, coordinating, and enabling digital innovation activities in line with prescribed processes. The candidate will collaborate with IT and business unit resources to create prototypes, proof of concepts, and pilot new ideas or technologies addressing business challenges. This work will occur in lab environments, separate from mainstream production workflows, to encourage creative solutions free from existing business or technical constraints. The resulting projects will be evaluated and validated against key objectives and success criteria. Successful ideas will be transitioned to the Product Delivery team, with the candidate supporting the transition and knowledge transfer.
Key Responsibilities
Use an Agile approach to lead the design, development, and implementation of innovative digital solutions using various technologies, including low code/no code platforms, cloud technologies, and lab environments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions to validate an idea.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Ensure the scalability, performance, and security of digital solutions.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive continuous innovation.
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Req
Master's or other advanced degree degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Pref
Work Experience
7-10 years Working in innovation and delivery platforms Pref
7-10 years Demonstrating strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. Pref
7-10 years Proven track record of managing complex projects from inception to completion Pref
7-10 years Experience working with cross-functional teams, including product managers, product owners, designers, business users, and other engineers Pref
Skills and Requirements
Extensive full-stack development experience, with a strong proficiency in React, is preferred.
Solid understanding of backend technologies and frameworks, including AWS.
Proven experience in low code/no code platforms, specifically Appian and Power Automate, is desired
Experience with agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
Understanding AI principles and applications, as well as languages such as Python
