• A bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, business, or a related field from an accredited institution.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 5 years of experience in a machining or manufacturing environment, with 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of machining processes, CNC operations, and equipment maintenance.
• Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certifications
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing production challenges.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and quality control processes.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Essential Functions:

Howmet Aerospace Structures - Savannah Operations is seeking a Machine Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of our machining department. This individual will be responsible for managing the machining processes, leading a team of operators and technicians, ensuring efficient production, and maintaining high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining, leadership experience, and a passion for continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage machining operations to ensure optimal performance, including machining processes, setup, and maintenance.
• Oversee and supervise a team of machinists, and technicians, providing guidance, training, and development.
• Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands while ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products.
• Manage production workflows, monitor machine performance, and optimize processes to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, implement corrective actions, and enforce adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, regulations, and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
• Work closely with the engineering and quality departments to resolve any technical issues and improve machining processes.
• Identify areas for continuous improvement and lead initiatives to streamline operations, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
• Manage the maintenance and repair of machinery, ensuring all equipment is operating at peak performance.
• Analyze production data and generate reports to track performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Manage inventory levels of raw materials, tooling, and supplies to ensure adequate stock and prevent production delays.
• Maintain and update documentation related to production processes, quality control, and maintenance procedures.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
