ROLE OVERVIEW: Greif's Forestry Land Management business, Soterra, is seeking an experienced and degreed Resource Management Forester professional who will play a key role in partnering with our field operations teams and business leadership to provide valuable Forestry analytics that will help move forward Soterra's growth and sustainability objectives. Configures, uses and maintains analytical support tools and conducts data analyses as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with SFI standards and maintain certification documentation.
- Coordinate annual SFI field audits.
- Organize necessary reporting requirements.
- Work with field staff to ensure training and compliance.
- Manage Soterra's Recreational leasing operations to ensure customer satisfaction
- Assist with GIS data management and spatial analysis.
- Assist with annual growth and yield modeling.
- Maintain tabular records of silvicultural prescriptions.
- Assist with Forest Carbon Program Development
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Forest Management or a related field from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 3-7 years of experience in Forest Management, GIS, or Forest Carbon.
- Experience with SFI
- Field experience as a Forester a plus
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with GIS software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Ability to work from either Pine Grove, LA or Purvis, MS field offices.
