Mid-level Highway Design Engineer (Construction)
GPI is seeking a full-time Highway Design Engineer for our growing Transportation Group in Allentown, Scranton, or Mechanicsburg, PA. We seek individuals ready to work collectively with a multi-discipline team of engineers in a dynamic office environment on interesting and challenging projects. Projects involve varying types of roadways, bridges, intersections, and trail designs with a focus on complete streets style projects. GPI understands the significant responsibility we have as engineers to provide safe, unique, and context-sensitive transportation solutions to the many communities and clients we serve. Responsibilities:
Thorough understanding of geometric design of highways and streets Comfortable taking a lead role in the design and development of Plans, Specifications, and Estimates for transportation projects Experience with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and PA municipal clients Ability to develop plans from conceptual design to final horizontal and vertical alignments, cross-sections, grading, drainage design, and utility relocations Understanding of construction as it relates to developing temporary traffic control and construction staging plans
Qualifications:
10 plus years of highway engineering experience preferred BS in Civil Engineering required; focus on Transportation or Land Development preferred PE is preferred Experience with PennDOT and/or PA municipal clients is a plus Proficiency Using MicroStation/InRoads/OpenRoads
