Position Summary
The Director of eCommerce & Digital Analytics is responsible for leading Illumina's Global eCommerce and digital product management strategies to drive optimization and growth of online sales channels through feature adoption and utilization. This role will oversee digital product ownership (customer relationship platform), B2B eCommerce operations, and the growth of online sales channels. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in eCommerce strategy, data analytics, conversion optimization, and customer experience to drive revenue and business growth. This candidate will partner with commercial, marketing, finance, and supply chain leaders to ensure alignment to the broader goals and objectives of the company while considering the evolving priorities of partner organizations. This critical leader will Communicate insights and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
1. eCommerce Strategy & Growth • Develop and execute a B2B eCommerce strategy aligned with business objectives. • Optimize digital processes to enhance internal efficiency, drive engagement, and increase conversion rates through eProcurement integrations and production support. • Drive adoption of eCommerce through business development in collaboration with commercial field teams. • Lead initiatives for online revenue growth, customer acquisition, and retention. • Partner with pricing teams to drive online pricing strategies. • Support NPIs through digital commercialization • Play a key role in the customer journey through ownership of MyIllumina and eCommerce • Stay ahead of industry trends and innovations in digital commerce.
2. Digital Analytics & Performance Optimization • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for eCommerce sccess. • Use data-driven insights to improve customer experience and increase sales. • Manage digital analytics tools and infrastructure (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, etc.) that enables end-to-end/funnel analysis across the digital platforms. • Implement A/B testing and conversion rate optimization (CRO) strategies. • Provide actionable insights to stakeholders to improve online performance.
3. Customer Experience Platforms • Oversee eCommerce and Customer Relationship platforms; functionality, integrations, and enhancements. • Implement new features and enhancements to increase customer loyalty and lifetime value. • Responsible for the management and execution of organization change management and customer facing communications. • Align across commercial, operations, and marketing teams to develop 1-5 year strategies and roadmaps. • Collaborate with GIS BAs and developers to ensure seamless execution of enhancements, new features, and user experience. • Ensure best practices in security, compliance, and data privacy.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Marketing, Data Analytics, or a related field.
8+ years of experience in B2B eCommerce, digital analytics, or online platform management.
Strong expertise in eCommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud).
Proficiency in Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Power BI, or similar tools. • Experience with digital marketing, SEO, and performance tracking.
Knowledge of CRM, automation, and AI-driven eCommerce solutions.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the life sciences, industrial, or manufacturing industries. • Familiarity with B2B customer behavior, pricing models, and digital sales strategies.
Hands-on experience with A/B testing, heatmaps, and UX optimization tools. Listed responsibilities are an essential, but not exhaustive list, of the usual duties associated with the position. Changes to individual responsibilities may occur due to business needs.
Position Requirements:
8+ years' experience in eCommerce and/or global digital product management/ownership with demonstrated improvements in process, revenue, and conversion; experience in diagnostics, life sciences, or medical devices is preferred.
Experienced working within the agile-development methodology.
Excellent understanding of Infrastructure and microservices based architecture and web applications
Proven ability to develop business relationships and communicate successfully with people at all levels of management; exhibit excellent interpersonal and diplomacy skills.
Proficient with managing program/project level initiatives.
Financial acumen and business savvy with understanding of business model levers and ability to strategically execute on growth plans.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to influence people, process and technology in a manner that enriches Illumina's company culture and overall team performance.
Must be organized and able to multi-task and re-prioritize as direction and goals shift, ability to drive team collaboration as well as work independently, driven by deadlines and high expectations both creatively and consistently.

Preferred Experience/Education/Skills:
• Typically has 12+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• May require an advanced degree (Master's) with 8 years of related experience; a Ph.D. with 5 years experience; or equivalent experience.
• Broad knowledge of all areas within eCommerce (including B2B/eProcurement)
• Typically has a depth of eCommerce or customer platform knowledge in function derived from experience in non-management and middle management roles.
• Language proficiency: Fluent English require
The estimated base salary range for the Director, eCommerce & Analytics role based in the United States of America is: $167,200 - $250,800. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual's qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
