Lead Electrician (Maintenance)
The Lead Electrician is responsible for the use, care and maintenance of Stages production lighting systems and equipment inside The Gordy. The Lead Electrician will manage the load-in, load-out, production usage, maintenance, and storage of all equipment, controllers, and infrastructure elements that make up the theatrical lighting program for Stages. The Lead Electrician also manages a safe and productive work environment in the theater venues, production shops, and storage areas for lighting.

What youll do at Stages
Work with the PM/TD to coordinate lighting install schedules.Work with the PM/TD to coordinate labor needs and supervise labor for the electrics department.Manage the hang, circuit and focus of each light plot and lighting practicals.Create and update efficient circuit and data plots that support the lighting design.Assist designers with the implementation of designs through the various forms of lighting practices.Identify any challenges with lighting designs, work with PM/TD on solutions.Make approved purchases needed to support lighting designs; manage and report expenses.Prepare for technical rehearsals; load-in tech tables, power systems, and task lighting.Attend all technical rehearsals in order to:Provide primary support to Lighting Designers through work notes, maintenance, or programmingProvide support for Stage Managers
Maintain lighting designs throughout production runs per production reports.Manage the technical systems through technical rehearsals, and performances to include;House, work, and run lighting systems, stage lighting consoles, and dimmer racks
Create policies to train run crews on start-up, shut-down, and maintenance procedures.Update plot, channel hookup, and dimmer schedules as needed.Create lighting file backups from technical rehearsals through to the close of shows.Restore lighting equipment following the close of every production.Document and report lighting inventories to PM/TD.Maintain all lighting equipment and storage.Prepare the theaters for rentals as needed.Maintain a safe work environment and follow safe work practices.Keep tools and work areas in a clean and orderly manner.Observe and comply with all company safety policies.Other duties as assigned.
To excel in this job, youll need
Programming experience with ETC EOS Software.Experience with Vectorworks and Lightwright Software.Experience with AutoCAD software.Experience with electricity, soldering and circuitry.Basic carpentry experience.Ability to work independently.Ability to lead a team.Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds routinely, 80 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally; climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding.Valid driver's license and the ability to safely operate motor vehicles.Ability to work in diverse environmental conditions including heat and cold, noise, vibrations, dust, fumes, oils.Ability to safely manage work in various situations including; uneven surfaces, floor openings, heights, construction debris and poor lighting.Must be punctual and dependable.Experience in technical production processes.Positive, collaborative approach to daily activities.Availability for evening and weekend work, as needed.
