Mechanical Crew Leader (Finance)
Position Description
The Mechanical Crew Leader is responsible for leading six Mechanic Specialists in the daily activities associated with maintaining, repairing, and overhauling natural gas compressor units and other associated equipment at Kinder Morgan's Tejas Natural Gas locations in south Texas along the Texas Gulf Coast.
Due to the territory covered by the Mechanical Crew, the Crew Leader position is posted at Wharton, TX but may be located in Sheridan, Victoria, Bay City or Pasadena in Texas, but there is only one opening.

This is a great opportunity if you have experience leading and performing maintenance and overhauls on compressors, reciprocating engines, turbines, pumps, and extruders from various manufacturers including Caterpillar, Ingersoll Rand, Clark Cooper Bessemer, and Solar or if you have similar experience working in Refinery, Manufacturing, Railroad or Pipeline industries or while serving our country in the Military.
As a working member of a work team, incumbent will manage or assist in the management of the work group to include mentoring and coaching employees, conducting performance reviews, participating in employment and termination decisions, and providing technical training.

- Responsible for compliance with all applicable governmental regulations and company policies, specifications, and procedures.

Position Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
- Knowledge of compressor, pump stations, gas treatment, storage facilities, process plant, gather transmission, pipeline system operations.
- Knowledge reading and interpreting blueprints, P&IDs and other diagrams
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver license, and maintain a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
- May be required to achieve and maintain certifications as required to perform job duties
- Achieve and maintain all OQ qualifications and progression requirements applicable to the job classification.
- Ability to manage a work group and be a working member of the team.
- Demonstrated intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to develop effective relationships and promote teamwork, foster open expression of ideas and opinions, provide and accept constructive feedback.

- Work in adverse weather and/or extreme temperature conditions.
- The regular work schedule is four ten hour days per week.
- Must respond to, and address, callouts and emergencies after regular business hours including after dark hours.
- The position requires the ability to work extended hours and weekends.
- May work in low-lit areas
- Work requirements include; good dexterity and mobility to function in climbing, bending, kneeling, working with hands extended above the head, twisting of the upper body, standing for long periods of time, working in confined spaces, exposure to extreme weather conditions and lifting.
- Overnight travel away from the reporting location is required up to 80% of the time.
- Required to carry company cell phone and respond to calls, text messages, and emails as needed.
- The position requires the operation of a company vehicle.
