Human Resources Specialist I (Human Resources)
Responsibilities:
Supports essential HR functions and provides administrative assistance to contribute to an employee-oriented, high-performance culture.
Essential Functions:
Assists with the execution of HR programs and procedures, ensuring consistency and adherence to company policies.Provides initial guidance to employees on HR policies and procedures, addressing basic inquiries.Assists with payroll data entry and resolves minor discrepancies in collaboration with payroll team members.Maintains HRIS records by entering and updating employee information and generating basic reports.Supports the preparation of documentation for internal and external HR audits as directed.Assists with managing routine employee lifecycle events such as leave requests and status changes.Helps in communicating benefits information to employees and processes routine benefits changes.Supports recruitment efforts by attending job fairs, scheduling interviews, coordinating with candidates, and conducting initial screenings.Supports the administration of employee recognition programs by coordinating activities and maintaining records.Assists in new hire orientations, ensuring employees receive necessary information about company policies and benefits.Participates in department projects, including ad hoc initiatives, to support overall HR objectives and enhance operational efficiency.
Ancillary Functions
Assures adherence to Bank policies and procedures and federal and state regulatory requirements.Provides cross-functional support to other areas of the department and the Bank where service or assistance is needed. Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.
Mandatory Training Curricula
Training is required of all Bank staff as related to regulatory mandated compliance topics and courses required for specific job functions. Career enhancement training courses are also available. Please refer to course catalog and management for details.
